Position Purpose:
The Machinist position is responsible for the set up and operation of the manual lathe machine in accordance with blueprints and the product specifications. Other responsibilities include overseeing the machining process, using their knowledge to calculate dimensions as needed and setting up the machinery.

POSITIONS SUPERVISED: None
Essential Functions:
- Ability to review blueprints, diagrams, and product specifications.
- Complete assigned machining operations in accordance with the blueprints and specifications.
- Ability to follow and complete all work orders as assigned.
- Assemble and repair pumps and all other related products.
- Maintain assigned machine in good working order and following all cleaning procedures.
- Maintain and clean work area daily to ensure a safe and efficient shop.
- Follows all company policies and procedures. 8. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High school or equivalent. Formal technical training preferred. Driver’s License and favorable driving record required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of machines and shop tools.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Prefer at least 1 year of related work experience.
SKILLS/ABILITIES: Multi-tasking, Flexibility, Time Management, Organization, Attention to Detail, Problem Solving, Communication Skills (both written and verbal), Safety.

Working Conditions:
Warehouse environment. May be exposed to temperature extremes. May be exposed to cleaning chemicals, solvents and fumes. May be exposed to loud noises.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to deal with a variety of variables under only limited standardization.
MATHEMATICS ABILITY: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers and common fractions. Competent in Algebra and Arithmetic.
LANGUAGE ABILITY: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business-related documents. Ability to communicate clearly.
